When you select a Model Setup from the Model Management page in JunoViewer, you need to first click on the Pre-Check Setup button before you can run the model. Depending on the Treatment Allocation Mode in your DMS file, you may see either one or two buttons (see image below). If the Treatment Allocation Mode in your DMS file is set to “None”, it means you are NOT running a trigger model (any other valid setting for Treatment Allocation Mode means you are running a trigger model, and thus the model may insert new treatments into your FWP during the model run).
Scenario 1: Once you have Pre-Checked your Setup, you will get the message that the Model check has been completed and if you are not triggering treatments, the 'Run Trigger Model' option that you can see in Scenario 2 is disabled.
Scenario 2: Once you have completed your setup pre-check, you will be able to click on the 3rd option 'Run Trigger Model'
It is vitally important that you understand the difference between these two scenarios.
So let’s look at these two scenarios in more detail: If you are NOT running a Trigger Model, you will see only the “Run Forecast” button. If you click this button, the model will use the treatments that are already within your FWP to estimate the future condition under that set of treatments. No treatments will be added to your FWP and no treatments will be removed (unless you explicitly tell JunoViewer to remove treatments by clicking on the Clear All Treatments button). If you ARE running a Trigger Model, you will see two buttons: (a) Update Forecast Data; and (b) Run Trigger Model. Clicking on (a) Update Forecast Data should be used if your FWP is finalized but for some reason you want to update the forecast data. For example, you go to the field and make some changes to your FWP, you will need to re-run the model. However, if you re-run your trigger model, the model may insert some new (unwanted) treatments into your FWP. Thus, in this case, you should always avoid -re-running a trigger model and only update the forecasted network condition for the finalized set of treatments. With this button click, JunoViewer will only update the forecast data regardless of the value of your Treatment Allocation Mode. Clicking on (b) Run Trigger Model will initiate a full model run including triggering of treatments as specified by the Treatment Allocation Mode in your DMS file. In this case, the model WILL add new treatments to your FWP, so be sure to only select this option if you are still working on developing your FWP. You should never click on Run Trigger Model if your FWP has been modified or finalized in the field, otherwise unwanted changes to your final FWP may occur.
