If you have a section in JunoViewer that doesn't have associated GPS data, you can follow the steps below to generate GPS data for that section. This tool can also be used to improve existing GPS data by overwriting it.

First select a section by clicking on the “Select Section” button

Note: You can define the section limits of the GPS data you’d like to generate. Also, you can define the latitude and longitude of the first marker.

Secondly, input the starting location in the Start (m) textbox. This will set the location to start generating points from.

Next, place pins on the map to draw the length of the section you would like to generate GPS for

The accuracy of the first pin placement is important, ensure that the pin is placed as close to the starting RP as possible.

Place all remaining pins throughout the section, leaving a maximum of 400 metres between two placed points. Points will be generated on the nearest road to the pins so the accuracy of the remaining pins is not as crucial.

You can place a maximum of 100 pins on the map at one time. If you exceed the pin limit you can Generate and Save the GPS data, then click on ‘Continue from Previous’ to continue from the last placed point.

To take back the last placed point, click the “Undo” button in the bottom-right corner of the map

To clear all pins on the map, click the “Clear” button in the bottom-right corner of the map

Click on generate points. If the length of the generated points exceeds the limits of the selected section then the generated GPS data will be trimmed to fit the section. A message will appear showing the length of the GPS data generated.

If you are happy with the points generated you can click on Save GPS Data. If the GPS Data already exists for any part of the generated points then they will be overwritten.

edited by Nathanael on 11/16/2017
